Fix Koofr Authentication Errors — NetDrive
Troubleshoot Koofr sign-in failures in NetDrive caused by two-factor authentication, stale saved credentials, and password changes.
A Koofr drive that connected without trouble last week suddenly refuses to sign in, or a fresh connection rejects the exact password that logs into Koofr’s own web interface. Both usually trace back to how the Koofr account handles credentials rather than anything wrong with NetDrive’s setup — a changed password or an account-level security setting can invalidate what NetDrive has saved without any obvious warning.

Give Koofr a drive letter, not a browser tab
NetDrive lets Google Drive, OneDrive, S3, SFTP, WebDAV and more appear as native drives on Windows and macOS — no syncing, no full downloads.
- Browse Koofr files in Explorer or Finder without the web uploader
- Save directly from any app's Save dialog
- Works alongside other mounted clouds in one drive manager

Map the Error to a Cause
| Symptom | Most likely cause |
|---|---|
| Sign-in rejected even though the password works on Koofr’s website | Two-factor authentication is enabled on the account and needs an app password instead |
| A connection that worked for weeks suddenly fails | The Koofr account password was changed elsewhere and NetDrive still has the old one saved |
| Credentials fail immediately after a fresh setup attempt | A copy-paste picked up extra whitespace or the wrong saved password from a password manager |
Fix 1: Generate an App Password for Two-Factor Accounts
If two-factor authentication is turned on for the Koofr account, the regular account password won’t authenticate a third-party client like NetDrive on its own — Koofr expects an app-specific password for that kind of connection instead. Sign in to the Koofr account through a browser, open the account’s security settings, and generate an app password specifically for NetDrive. Use that generated password — not the everyday login password — in NetDrive’s Koofr connection dialog.

Fix 2: Re-Enter Credentials After a Password Change
Changing the Koofr account password on the website or another device doesn’t update the copy NetDrive has stored for that drive. The old password keeps failing until it’s replaced.
- Open NetDrive and go to Drive Manager.
- Select the Koofr drive and click Edit.
- Clear the saved password field and enter the current Koofr password (or app password, if two-factor authentication is on).
- Click Connect to re-authenticate.

Fix 3: Rule Out a Corrupted Copy-Paste
A password pulled from a password manager or pasted from a notes app can pick up a trailing space or line break that isn’t visible in the field. If the account isn’t using two-factor authentication and the password is definitely current, paste it into a plain text field first to confirm there’s no extra whitespace, then retype it directly into NetDrive’s connection fields rather than pasting again.

When None of These Apply
If an app password is in use, the credentials are freshly re-entered, and the drive still won’t connect, check whether the Koofr account itself is reachable from a browser on the same network — a suspended account or a temporary login block from Koofr’s side produces the same generic authentication failure inside NetDrive, with no way to tell the difference from the connection dialog alone.
Wrap-up
Most Koofr authentication failures in NetDrive come down to a two-factor account needing an app password instead of the regular one, or a saved password that’s gone stale after being changed elsewhere. For the initial setup this troubleshooting builds on, see Mount Koofr on Windows with NetDrive or Mount Koofr on macOS with NetDrive. A similar two-factor pattern shows up with Mega’s authentication errors if that’s the other drive giving trouble.
