I am having the same problem with Windows 7 64bit pro.
Mounting drive T: failed
Login failed: Please check internet connection
It fails for all the preloaded public ftp sites as well. If I go with IE to ftp://ftp.site.com and use my login information, it works correctly. If I use the incorrect login information withing NetDrive, it says incorrect login information. |

Win7 Ultimate
Can't mount a drive for HTTPS WebDAV. FTP works fine. Can access the same WebDAV sites via AnyClient. |

I have same problem when i connect to my proftpd server
(from xp machine ).
Description:
1. When i connect by netdrive to other ftp servers - was OK.
2. When i connect to my own proftpd :
"TestConnection : Server Connect Fail (-2)" in log file
3. When i connect by filezilla to my own proftpd - was OK.
When i turn on TraceLog in proftpd, i saw he had problem with
connection on 113 port .
I've made exception in firewall both on xp and linux server ...
no helps..
Solution: turn off IdentLookups in proftpd config
(God Bless Google - said atheist ). Works great !
Hope it will help for netdrive developers to handle this certain problem in
next version - filezilla works ok, so its possible to solve it independently
to server setting.
best regards,
Kacper |

Hope this helps someone: Since my last Netdrive upgrade any WebDAV attempt had been giving me the "mounting failed, check internet connection" notice.
For me (like for jgilligan) it apparently had to do with the "use https" checkbox under the Advanced menu for the particular site--my URL is https, but just having it there was not enough. So final settings:
Specified https in URL
Changed port to 443 (standard for https)
Checked "Use HTTPS" under Advanced.

I'm having the same problem with a FTP-Server. When I try to connect, it says "Connecting" and after some seconds the following message appears:
| Code: | Mounting drive Z: failed
Login failed. Please check the internet connection. |
And in the logs you can find the following lines:
| Code: | 08/16/10 11:52:28 Manage login (ftp)...
08/16/10 11:52:28 Manage login (ftp): Login succeded
08/16/10 11:52:28 TestConnection : Testing connection...
08/16/10 11:52:38 TestConnection : Server Connect Fail (-2) |
I think the problem is the IdentLookups of the FTP-server because the server needs about 10 seconds to send the welcome message. But NetDrive only waits about 5 seconds until the error message appears. So is there a possibility to raise the timeout?
The connection to the "Public FTP Sites", which seem to be configured without IdentLookups, works quite well when I run NetDrive as Administrator on a Windows Server 2008. If i run NetDrive just through double-clicking on it, it starts as a normal user and the mounting as a drive will fail... |

| Thank you for the fast answer gruff. I tried to connect five times and i always got the same error message. So for me your idea doesn't solve the problem. Any further ideas? |

Sorry for the inconvenience.
We'll check issues in these posts, especially ftp timeout issue. |
